What It Does

Football Pool turns a WordPress site into a prediction game where visitors forecast match outcomes, accumulate points based on accuracy, and compete on a leaderboard. Admins configure leagues, matches, scoring rules, and user access through the WordPress dashboard. It is purpose-built for football (soccer) match predictions rather than fantasy roster management.

Who It's For

This plugin fits a site operator running a football-focused community, such as a pub site, a workplace pool, a fan blog, or a fantasy league organizer who wants prediction-based scoring rather than full roster management. It also works for amateur league administrators who need a simple way to run a private tipping competition tied to their site.

Who Should Skip It

If you need full fantasy roster drafting, multi-sport league management, or player stat tracking, this plugin is too narrow and you should look at SportsPress or JoomSport instead. Casual bloggers who only want a single-season, one-off game with no ongoing leaderboard will find the setup overhead disproportionate to the payoff.

The Bottom Line

Football Pool scores 83.13 out of 100 and delivers exactly what its name promises: a focused, well-maintained prediction game for football fans with strong ratings and a clean support record. Its narrow scope is both its strength and its limit, so sites needing roster management or multi-sport features should look elsewhere. For anyone running a football tipping competition on WordPress, this is a solid, low-risk choice.

Pick SportsPress if you need a full league, team, and player statistics system across multiple sports rather than a simple prediction pool.

JoomSport – for Sports: Team & League, Football, Hockey & more 76/100

Choose JoomSport if you want broader sport coverage such as hockey or basketball alongside football, or richer team and roster management features.

Dinosaur Game 65/100

This is clearly an unrelated listing and not a real alternative, so ignore it when comparing prediction or sports plugins.
